This petition has been filed seeking direction to the respondent police to expedite the investigation in Crime No.958 of 2015 and file the final report.
2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that after registering the case, the respondent police has not completed the investigation and filed the charge sheet in appropriate time.
3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent would submit that the investigation officer attached with the concerned police station, in which, the case has been pending, is now transferred and that the newly joined investigation officer is not in a position to complete the investigation immediately. Further, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor requested some more time for completing the investigation.

5.Though the case was registered in the year 2015, the respondent police has not completed the investigation and filed the final report. It is obvious on the part of the investigation officer to complete the investigation within 60 days from the date of registration of the case, since the case has been registered under Sections 406 and 420 I.P.C. However, considering the facts and circumstances of the case and also considering the request made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this Court directs the respondent police to complete the investigation within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and file the charge sheet.
6.This Criminal Original Petition is allowed with the above direction.
