ORDER

The present application has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents 1 and 2 to provide police protection with one gun man to the above named petitioner for his life and limb on the basis of this representation dated 24.02.2026.

2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has had an armed license from the year 2019 onwards and he is likely to surrender the said gun. In view of the ensuing assembly elections, he is facing a threat from the accused persons, who are arrayed as accused in the murder of his brother, and therefore, he has sent a representation to the respondent police on 17.02.2026. Since the same was not considered, the present petition has been filed.

3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondents submitted that the representation was received only on 06.03.2026 and the third respondent has issued C.S.R.No.263 of 2026 and conducted an enquiry. After conducting enquiry, it was found that there is no genuineness in the complaint lodged by the petitioner and therefore, it was closed on 09.03.2026.

4.In case the petitioner has a real threat, the petitioner is at liberty to revive the request before the concerned police officials. 5.With the above obesrvations, this Criminal Original Petition stands closed.
