PRAYER : Criminal Appeal is filed under Section 374(2) Cr.P.C, r/w Section 27 of Prevention of Corruption Act, to call for the records of the Special Judge/Chief Judicial Magistrate, Srivilliputhur in Spl.C.C.No.16 of 2014 ( Old Spl.C.C.No.1 of 2009) and set aside the judgment and conviction, dated 20.11.2018 and acquit the appellant. For Appellant : Mr.K.Sekar For Respondent : Mr.M.Chandrasekaran, Additional Public Prosecutor.

JUDGMENT

When the matter is taken up for hearing, it is represented by the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the appellant that appellant died on 14.07.2019. He has also circulated a letter, dated 17.12.2019, to the Registry to that effect. Therefore, the learned counsel submits that appeal abates.

2. In the light of the above submission, this Criminal Appeal is dismissed as abated. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
