Prayer : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to extend the ordinary leave already granted by this Court in W.P.Crl.(MD) No.763 of 2026, dated 12.02.2026, consequently grant 20 days ordinary leave without police escort to the petitioner namely Rajesh, S/o.Thasaiyaa, aged about 42 years, life convict prisoner, PID No.3610. O R D E R

[Order of the Court was made by N.ANAND VENKATESH, J.] This petition has been filed seeking extension of the ordinary leave already granted by this Court by an order dated 12.02.2026.

2. Heard Mr.K.A.S.Prabhu, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, and Mr.A.Thiruvadi Kumar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents.

3. The petitioner had challenged the proceedings of the first respondent, dated 08.01.2026, wherein the detenue had sought 40 days ordinary leave. This Court, while disposing of the Writ Petition, by an

order dated 12.02.2026, thought it fit to grant only 20 days ordinary leave to the detenue without escort. The 20-day period is going to come to an end on 14.03.2026. It is under these circumstances the present application has been filed seeking extension of the period of ordinary leave granted by this Court.

4. In our considered view, if such extension is granted by us, it will virtually amount to reviewing the earlier order passed on 12.02.2026. Therefore, the present petition seeking extension of time cannot be entertained by this Court.

5. If at all the petitioner is seeking any review of the earlier order, an appropriate application has to be filed by raising the necessary grounds, which will be considered on its own merits and in accordance with law.
