DR.G.JAYACHANDRAN., J AND R.POORNIMA.,J This Writ Petition is filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant three days parole leave from 20.3.2025 to 22.3.2025 to the Petitioner's son Arunpandi @ Jetli(C.P.No.2876), who is in Central Prison, Madurai, to perform the Uthiragriyai ceremony of her husband Marimuthu.
2.Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials placed before this Court. 3.Writ of Mandamus filed to consider the representation to grant three days parole to attend 5th and 7th day ceremony of the 2/5
father's death.The said request been rejected subsequent to the filing of the Writ Petition by the authorities stating that Prison Rules does not permit grant of leave to attend ceremony followed by death. It is also stated that the convict was granted Emergency Leave to attend the funeral of his father, as Law provides for such leave. For follow up ceremonies, law does not permit granting of leave.
4.Considering the reasons and the disposal of the representation by the authorities on 18.3.2025, nothing survives for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus.
