This Criminal Original petition is filed seeking a direction to the second respondent police not to harass the petitioner and his family members in the guise of enquiry.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate(Criminal side) appearing for the respondents.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner was called for by the respondent police and enquired by them, about whereabouts of one Chandran. It is further stated that the petitioner does not know about the whereabouts of the said Chandran and he gave a detailed explanation about his innocence. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4. It appears that one S.Velmurugan has given a complaint as

against the petitioner and others. Therefore, the statement of the petitioner that he did not involve in any offence and that there was no complaint against the petitioner, is not true.

5. The learned Government Advocate(Criminal side) submitted that the petitioner is involved in the offence only in connection with the complaint that was received against the petitioner and that there will be no unnecessary harassment. He also undertakes that if the presence of the petitioner is required for any enquiry, it shall be done only after issuing summons prescribing date and time and in the manner prescribed in law.
