This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents herein to grant permission and give police protection to conduct the "Adal Padal Programme" dance program at about 07.00 p.m., on 06.06.2018 in pursuance to the festival of "Arulmighu Sri Mariamman Thirukovil", situated in South Street, Mangalrevu Post, Peraiyur Taluk, Madurai District on considering the petitioner's representation dated 01.06.2018.
2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.
3.When the matter was taken up for hearing, It came to the knowledge of this Court that the programme is to be conducted on today i.e., on 06.06.2018. Therefore, at this stage, the prayer sought for by the petitioner in this writ petition cannot be granted. Hence, the writ petition is liable to be dismissed as not maintainable.

4.In the result, this writ petition is dismissed as not maintainable. No costs. However, liberty is given to the petitioner to make a fresh representation to the respondents, if so advised. This order will not stand in the way for the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner on merits and in accordance with law.
