Prayer:Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 4 to enquire into the death of the petitioner's son namely, Mahendran (28 years) by taking into file the information provided by the 3 Panchayatars and Paikulam Traders Union dated 20.06.2020 addressed to the respondents 5 and 7 together with the petitioner's representation dated 27.06.2020 to the respondents 1 to 5 & 7 and investigate and take further action in accordance with law. ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents 1 to 4 to enquire into the death of the petitioner's son namely, Mahendran (28 years) and take further action in accordance with law. 2.According to the petitioner, her son, namely, Mahendran was subjected to custodial violence by the police authorities and subsequently, succumbed to injuries. Therefore, she sought a direction to enquire in this matter.

3.The status report directed to be filed has been placed before this Court by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents 1 to 8. The same reveals that the matter has been entrusted to Organized Crime Unit, CBCID, Madurai City and the matter is now under investigation. 4.This Court also perused the status report and the same shows that the person CBCID Wing, made some progress in investigation. As the investigation is in progress, no further direction is required in this Writ Petition. It is for the Investigation Officer to file a report before the concerned learned Judicial Magistrate, after completion of the investigation. 5.In such view of the matter, this Writ Petition stands dismissed.

No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
