ORDER : The Court Made the following order :- The petitioners, who apprehend arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offence punishable under Sections 4(1)(a), 4(1)(i), 4(1)(ii), 4(1)(k), 7 and 24 of Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, in Crime No.638 of 2016 on the file of the respondent police, seek anticipatory bail.

2.The case of the prosecution is that the 1st petitioner is the bar owners and the 2nd petitioner was an employee in the said bar. On 19.11.2016, the respondent Police seized 50 liquor bottles from the 2nd petitioner.

3.It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioners that the petitioners are innocent persons and they have not committed any offence and prays for anticipatory bail in favour of the petitioners.

4.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) submitted that the 1st accused was arrested and the investigation is at preliminary stage. She strongly opposed for granting anticipatory bail to the petitioners.

5.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and also taking note of the gravity of offence said to have been committed by the petitioners, I am not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

petitioners. Accordingly, the Criminal original petition stands dismissed.
