O R D E R

This petition is filed seeking a direction to the first and second respondents not to harass the petitioner under the guise of enquiry.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents 1 and 2.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the respondent Police frequently called the petitioner to the Police Station and harassed him under the guise of enquiry in respect of a civil dispute.

4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the petitioner was called only for enquiry in respect of a petition

pending against him and that the respondent Police did not cause any harassment to the petitioner. However, he gave an undertaking that if at all the presence of the petitioner is required, the respondent would call the petitioner for enquiry only after issuing summons giving specific date, time and place.

5. Recording the above undertaking given by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with a direction that the petitioner shall cooperate for enquiry and during enquiry there shall not be any harassment against the petitioner at the hands of the respondent police. Further the 2nd respondent police is directed to complete the enquiry within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of the copy of this order after providing necessary opportunities to the parties concerned.
