ORDER

Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2. The writ petitioner is a senior citizen. He is a retired government employee. He is a member of the Tamil Nadu New Health Insurance Scheme. On 29.09.2022, the petitioner's wife met with an 2/4

accident. The petitioner incurred a sum of Rs.8,92,346/-. The petitioner made a claim for disbursement. It has not been since considered.

3. As per the norms set out in the insurance scheme, accidents are also covered. The petitioner's wife was hit by two-wheeler. It is a case of motor accident. In my view, it would also be covered by the terms of the scheme. The petitioner is therefore directed to resubmit a claim before the fifth respondent along with the original bills. The fifth respondent shall process and forward it to the third respondent within a period of three weeks after receipt of the scheme. The fifth respondent is directed to sanction the claim and pay the eligible amount to the petitioner as per the norms within a period of eight weeks thereafter.
