O R D E R

The writ petition has been filed in the nature of a Mandamus seeking consideration of a representation dated 31.05.2022, seeking patta for the lands in Survey No.225/2 at Mandu Thandupathu Village, Tiruchendur.

In the affidavit filed in support of this writ petition, the petitioner had stated that the father of the petitioner had purchased the aforementioned property by a sale deed registered as Document No.738 of 1975, dated 25.08.1975. Thereafter, it had been sub-divided. The petitioner claims that he is in possession. The petitioner had given a representation seeking patta.

3. However, it would only be appropriate that the petitioner files an application through online for patta to the third respondent / Tahsildar, Tiruchendur Taluk, Thoothukudi District. From the date on which, such online application is filed within a period of twelve (12) weeks, the third respondent is directed to examine, issue notice and take necessary steps and if the petitioner otherwise is eligible for grant of patta, then proceed to grant patta.

4. With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
