O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of the Criminal Procedure Code, to direct the respondents to give police protection forthwith to the life and property of the petitioner-defacto complainant in Crime No.298 of 2017 on the file of the Inspector of Police, Devadanapatti Police Station, Theni District.

2. Heard Mr.K.Appadurai, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.K.Anbarasan, learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondents.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the Criminal case was registered against the petitioner in Crime No.298 of 2017, for attempt to murder under Sections 307, 109 Cr.P.C., on the file of the second respondent police. Even though the petitioner is in Hospital, threat to the life of the petitioner's family members is reported to the police next day. From the petition, this Court is not in a possession to ascertain https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

that the petitioner has approached the respondent police earlier, seeking police protection to the life and property of the petitioner.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) on instructions, would submit that the respondent police will consider if a request is made by the petitioner.

5. Considering the above submission, this Criminal Original Petition is closed with a direction to the petitioner to give a representation in this regard to the respondent police. On such representation, the respondent police shall take appropriate action on the petitioner's representation, in accordance with law, taking into consideration the grievance of the petitioner and other facts and circumstances.
