ORDER

This writ petition has been filed in the nature of Mandamus seeking a direction against the second respondent / Tahsildar, Srirangam Taluk Office, Srirangam, Tiruchirappalli District, to consider the application given by the petitioner for transfer of patta.

2. The application was dated 07.02.2023. The petitioner claims that the property had devolved to him by way of a Will executed by his mother. The property is situated at Door No.9A, Vellithirumutham Village, Srirangam South Street, Trichy, in old survey No.T.S.No.762/1, New T.S.No.2644. It had been purchased by his mother by a registered sale deed dated 14.12.1979 in document No.2595/1979. She had executed the Will on 09.08.1993, bequeathing the property in favour of the petitioner. She died on 14.09.1993. The petitioner claims that there are no other legal heirs and no other rival claims.

3. Let the second respondent examine these aspects and issue notice to the petitioner herein, examine the Will and determine whether there are any other claimants to the property and thereafter proceed to do the needful, consequent to the application filed for transfer of patta. The entire exercise by 2/4

the second respondent is to be completed within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
