O R D E R

[Order of the Court was made by D.KRISHNAKUMAR, J.] The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the Respondents to construct a Overhead Water Tank at Mudaliyar Puthukulam Panchayat Ramanathapuram District by implementing the Resolution No.95 passed by the Respondent No.6 on 02.01.2024 and by considering the petitioner's representation, dated 20.02.2024 within the time stipulated by this Hon'ble Court.

2. The case of the petitioner is that more than 200 villagers are residing in Mudaliyar Puthukulam Panchayat and they are daily wage workers and school going students. Since there prevails drinking water problem, the villagers made several representations to the authorities to construction a overhead water tank in the said panchayat. On 02.01.2024, a resolution was also passed by the sixth respondent panchayat in Resolution No.95, stating that under the Scheme of Karur-Ramanathapuram drinking water project, a water tank will be constructed in the said panchayat. But, thereafter, no steps have been taken by the authorities. Hence, in this regard, the petitioner has made a representation on 22.02.2024. Since the said representation has not been considered, the petitioner has filed this writ petition with the aforesaid prayer.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, without going into the merits of the case, we direct the first and third respondents, to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 22.02.2024, and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, after providing opportunity to all the parties concerned. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No Costs.
