This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the second respondent to grant permission and police protection to the temple festival to be conducted from 12.06.2018 to 15.06.2018 and also performance of Adal Padal Program to be held on 13.06.2018, 14.06.2016 and 15.06.2018 at night by the villagers and this cultural program on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 02.06.2018 in connection with the devotees of Arulmigu Kaliamman, Mariamman Temple, Thummanayakkanpatti Village, Periyur Post & Taluk, Madurai District.

2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

3.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that six criminal cases have been registered against two rival groups in the area, where the programme is scheduled to be conducted and the same are stated to be pending. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Therefore, the relief sought for by the petitioner cannot be granted.

4.At this juncture, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that now the rival groups have come forward to settle the issues and conduct the programme. Therefore, there is no rival dispute among the villagers in conducting the festival programme as well as cultural programme, scheduled to be held on 13.06.2018.

5.In the light of the above said submissions made by both sides, the petitioner is directed to make a fresh representation to the second respondent, on 12.06.2018 and on receipt of such representation, the second respondent is directed to consider the same in accordance with law and by taking note of the order passed in W.P.(MD)No.7911 of 2018, dated 12.04.2018. 6.With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
