ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition is filed seeking a direction to the learned Judicial Magistrate, Musiri, to expedite the trial pending in C.C.No.151 of 2014 within the time stipulated by this Court.

2. The case of the prosecution is that on the basis of the complaint given by one Syamladevi, Sub Inspector of Police attached to the Musiri Police Station, a case in Crime No.47 of 2014 under Sections 294, 353(i) and 506(i) of IPC was regsitered and the same has been taken on file in C.C.No.151 of 2014. Even after lapse of 7 years, trial is not concluded.

3. The learned Public Prosecutor would submit that out of 27 witnesses, 7 witnesses were examined and other witnesses was not cross examined by the petitioner. At this stage, this petition is filed for a direction to the respondents.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that later he filed a petition under Section 311 of Cr.P.C and cross examined the witnesses.

5. Considering the nature of the offence and as well as the oldness of the matter, there shall be a direction to the learned Judicial Magistrate to conclude the trial within four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and dispose of the same on merits and after disposal, a compliance report must be submitted to the Registry.
