PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to conduct the Annadhana Kodi Vizha Functions and "Siruthondar Drama" (day 1) to be held on 11.05.2025 in Arulmigu Sri Ammayee Amman Temple at Ammankudi Village, Thottiyam Taluk, Trichy District under their supervision, granting permission and police protection to conduct the cultural programme namely "Siruthondar Drama" (day 2) scheduled to be held on 12.05.2025 on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 05.02.2025.

This writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India has been filed on 18.03.2025 praying to direct the respondents to conduct the Annadhana Kodi Vizha Functions and "Siruthondar Drama" (day 1) to be held on 11.05.2025 in Arulmigu Sri Ammayee Amman Temple at Ammankudi Village, Thottiyam Taluk, Trichy District under their supervision, granting permission and police protection to conduct the 2/6

cultural programme namely "Siruthondar Drama" (day 2) scheduled to be held on 12.05.2025 on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 05.02.2025.

2. In view of the order proposed to be passed infra, this Court is of the opinion that issuance of notice to R4 and R5 is not necessary. Accordingly, notice to R4 and R5 is dispensed with.

3. Mr.A.Joel Paul Antony, learned counsel for the petitioner, submits that the petitioner is a member of the Festival Committee of the Annadhana Kodi Vizha Sangam. He further submits that a renowned temple, namely Arulmigu Sri Ammayee Amman Thirukkovil, is situated in their village. According to him, the Chithirai Festival (Annadhana Kodi Vizha) for the current year is scheduled to be conducted on 11.05.2025 and 12.05.2025. In this regard, the petitioner had submitted a representation to the first respondent on 05.02.2025, seeking necessary permission and arrangements. No order was passed so far. Hence, he filed this petition.

4. Heard both sides. This Court has perused the representation dated 05.02.2025 submitted by the petitioner to the first respondent.

5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court is inclined to direct the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 05.02.2025 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, on or before 10.05.2025.
