PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to take purposeful action for payment of retirement benefits as per the correspondence letters of the District Collector, Madurai in his letter No.L.Dis.18105/2017/G1 dated 29.06.2017, and the Revenue Divisional Officer, Usilampatti, D.Dis.No. 4958/2022/A1 dated 09.12.2022, within a specified time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for a Mandamus to direct the respondents to take action for payment of retirement benefits as per the correspondence letters of the District Collector, Madurai in letter No.L.Dis.18105/2017/G1 dated 29.06.2017, and the Revenue Divisional Officer, Usilampatti, in D.Dis.No. 4958/2022/A1 dated 09.12.2022.

2. Heard Mr.S.Visvalingam, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.M.Lingadurai, learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents. By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. Mr.S.Visvalingam, learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice, if a direction is issued to the respondents to consider the petitioners' representation dated 16.11.2022.

4. Mr.M.Lingadurai, learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents submitted that the petitioner's representation dated 16.11.2022 would be considered on merits and in accordance with law, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

5. Recording the above submission of the learned Special Government Pleader, this Writ Petition is disposed of, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, by directing the respondents to consider the representation dated 16.11.2022 of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
