Respondents PRAYER: The petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus, directing the respondents 1 and 2 to secure the detenu Mariambeevi, D/o Ansardeen and W/o Raja, aged about 23 years from the illegal custody of the respondents 3 to 6 and produce her before this Court and set her at liberty.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by C.T.SELVAM,J.) Detenu, aged 23 years has been produced before this Court by the second respondent. She informs of having been in relationship with the petitioner and as an indication of her intent to marry him, accepted a Thali tied by petitioner at a Hindu Temple. Detenu is a Muslim by birth. She has informed that her father accompanied by several others, forcibly took her to her parental home, from where, she has been retrieved by the second respondent Police today. She informs her intent to accompany the petitioner in keeping with his wishes.

2.Learned counsel for petitioner submits that there is threat of harm to the petitioner as also detenu at the hands of her parents.

3.In the above circumstance, this Habeas Corpus petition shall stand closed with a direction to the second respondent Police to be vigilant and act appropriately in the event of any complaint by the petitioner or the detenu.
