Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to approve the appointment of the petitioner as Secondary Grade Teacher from the date of appointment i.e., 01.06.2000 and pay salary and other benefits to the petitioner upto 31.05.2005 by considering the representation dated 12.08.2013 and pass such further or other orders as may deem fit and thus render justice. COMMON ORDER In both the writ petitions, the petitioners/J.Juliet Jeyamari and D.Maniarasi are seeking a Mandamus directing the respondents to approve their appointment as Secondary Grade Teacher from the date of appointment i.e., 01.06.2000 and 01.02.2001 respectively and pay salary and other benefits to them upto 31.05.2005 by considering their representations dated 12.08.2013.

2. Mr. V.Pandi, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondents.

3. By consent of both parties, these writ petitions are taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

4. Both the petitioners have given representations on 12.08.2013 to the first respondent to approve their appointment as Secondary Grade Teacher from the date of appointment i.e., 01.06.2000 and 01.02.2001 respectively and pay salary and other benefits upto 31.05.2005. Since no orders have been passed in the said representations, the petitioners have come before this Court.

5. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners would submit that it would be suffice if the representations of the petitioners are disposed of, by the first respondent, on merits and in accordance with law within the time stipulated by this Court.

6. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would submit that the representations of the petitioners will be considered in accordance with law.

7. Considering the limited scope of the prayer, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioners in these Writ Petitions, the first respondent, the District Elementary Educational Officer, Tirunelveli is hereby directed to pass appropriate orders on the representations of the petitioners dated 12.08.2013, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

8. With the above direction, these Writ Petitions are disposed of. No costs.
