PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of the Criminal Procedure Code, to direct the learned III Additional District Judge (PCR) Madurai to accept the surrender of the petitioners and consider the bail applications on the date of surrender in connection with Crime No.272 of 2017 on the file of the respondent police.

O R D E R

In view of the amendments made in the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, this Court is of the view that the usual directions that were issued by this Court cannot be issued routinely in all cases. Therefore, the petitioners are directed to surrender before the trial Court on 22.08.2017 and on such surrender, the learned III Additional District Judge (PCR) Madurai, is directed to consider the bail petition filed by the petitioners in connection with Crime No.272 of 2017, on the same day after hearing the respondents 3 to 20 / defacto complainants, on merits and in accordance with law.

2. The learned counsel for the respondents 3 to 20 is directed to inform the de-facto complainants that the petitioners will surrender before the trial Court, on 22.08.2017.

3. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
