2.The Inspector of Police, Thiruvarambur, Trichy - 620 013 : Respondents Prayer : The Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to grant permission and protection to conduct the "Cart Procession" (Sappara Bhavani) programm scheduled on 13.06.2018 at 9.00 P.M to 11.00 P.M in the event of the Punitha Anthoniyar Aalayam Festival in Kumaresapuram, Trichy - 620 013, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 29.05.2018. ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for issuing a direction to the the respondent to grant permission and protection to conduct the "Cart Procession" (Sappara Bhavani) programme scheduled on 13.06.2018 at 9.00 P.M to 11.00 P.M in the event of the Punitha Anthoniyar Aalayam Festival in Kumaresapuram, Trichy - 620 013, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 29.05.2018.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.

According to the petitioner, he made a representation to the second respondent on 29.05.2018 for granting permission and protection to conduct the "Cart Procession" (Sappara Bhavani) programme will be scheduled on 13.06.2018 at 9.00 P.M to 11.00 P.M, in the event of the Punitha Anthoniyar Aalayam Festival in Kumaresapuram, Trichy - 620 013. But, so far, no order has been passed by the second respondent. Hence, the petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition.

4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would submit that the said representation will be considered on merits within a specified time that may be fixed by this Court.

5. Considering the submission made by the learned counsel appearing on either side without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's case, this Court is inclined to dispose of the Writ Petition with the following direction: "The second respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 29.05.2018, as expeditiously as possible, preferably on or before 12.06.2018, and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law."

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
