Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 4 to forbear the respondent 5 from conducting festival function "Chithirai Urchavam" on 29.04.2022 in Sri Pillikaliyaman Temple situated at Athikaram, Thenkarai, Thiruppathur Taluk, Sivaganga District based on the petitioner's representation dated 12.04.2022.

ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for a Mandamus seeking for a direction to the respondents 1 to 4 to forbear the fifth respondent from conducting festival function "Chithirai Urchavam" on 29.04.2022 in Sri Pillikaliyaman Temple situated at Athikaram, Thenkarai, Thiruppathur Taluk, Sivaganga District based on the petitioner's representation dated 12.04.2022.

Even though the aforementioned relief is sought for, learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is satisfied, if his representation dated 12.04.2022 seeking for conduct of a peace committee meeting is considered by the third respondent on merits and in accordance with law on or before the conduct of the temple festival which is scheduled to take place on 29.04.2022.

3. No prejudice would be caused to the respondents, if such a direction is issued by this Court.

4. Accordingly, this Court directs the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 12.04.2022 requesting the third respondent to convene a peace committee meeting with regard to the conduct of the temple festival on 29.04.2022, as stated supra, on or before 26.04.2022 and pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording a fair hearing to the petitioner and thereafter, decide as to whether the temple festival can be conducted on 29.04.2022 or not.

5. With the aforesaid direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition stands closed.
