ORDER
The petitioners are the accused in S.C.No.226 of 2019 on the file of the Sub Court, Pattukottai, have approached this Court for quashing the proceedings.
2.The issue between the petitioners and the defacto complainant was amicably resolved.
3.When the matter is taken up for hearing, in this case, it is reported that out of 20 accused, eight accused alone are present before this Court.
4.The learned Government Advocate (Crl. side) submits that there are three victims and the defacto complainant alone is present before this Court and the status of the other victims are not known. 5.Considering the objections raised by the learned Government Advocate (Crl. side) and also considering the nature of the offence alleged in this case, this Court is not inclined to quash the matter on the ground of compromise. The petitioners have to face the trial. 2/4
6.At this juncture, the learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the case is of the year 2013 and hence, this Court may direct the trial Court to conclude the trial within the stipulated time. 7.In view of the above, the Criminal Original Petition is disposed of and the Sub Court, Pattukottai, is directed to conclude the trial in S.C.No.226 of 2019, as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 12.04.2024 NCC :
