ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking direction to the respondents to grant permission and police protection to conduct Kabbadi Tournament on 21.07.2018 (Saturday) at night 10.00 p.m., to 22.07.2018 (Sunday) at afternoon 01.00 p.m. at Mayandi Kovil Thidal, Pethanadarpatti, Tenkasi Taluk, Tirunelveli District in connection with Mayandi Kovil Festival based on the petitioner's representations dated 23.05.2018 and 04.06.2018. 2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

3.According to the petitioner, he made representations dated 23.05.2018 and 04.06.2018 to the respondents to grant permission and protection for conducting Kabbadi Tournament on 21.07.2018 (Saturday) at night 10.00 p.m., to 22.07.2018 (Sunday) at afternoon 01.00 p.m. at Mayandi Kovil Thidal, Pethanadarpatti, Tenkasi Taluk, Tirunelveli District in connection with Mayandi Kovil Festival. As no order has been passed in the said representations, the petitioner has filed this writ petition with the aforesaid prayer.

4.The learned Additional Government pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that the petitioner's representations are still pending with the second respondent. Therefore, this Court may pass appropriate orders to consider the petitioner's representations on merits and in accordance with law.

5.Considering the submission made by both parties, without going into the merits of the case, this Court directs the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representations dated 23.05.2018 and 04.06.2018 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The petitioner shall enclose a copy of the representations dated 23.05.2018 and 04.06.2018 along with a copy of this order to the second respondent. 6.This writ petition is disposed of, with the above direction. No costs.
