Respondent PRAYER : Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent herein to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 18.09.2021 pertaining to issuance of Patta to the property under S.No.406/3 Valandur Revenue Village, Usilampatti Taluk, Madurai District in the name of Arulmigu Seelaikariamman Kovil.

The writ petition has been filed in the nature of a Mandamus seeking consideration of a representation, dated 18.09.2021 seeking issuance of patta for property in Survey No.406/3, Valandur Revenue Village, Usilampatti Taluk, Madurai District in the name of "Aurlmigu Seelaikariamman Kovil" for which the petitioner herein is the poojari.

2. The learned counsel pointed out that it is the petitioner who is paying tax and to this extent, the Village Administrative Officerhad also issued a certificate. The respondent may take a decision since the land on which the temple is situated in Natham poromboke land. They may otherwise also regularize the existence of the temple.

3. The respondent may issue notice to the petitioner herein and if required to other villagers and thereafter, take a considered decision. Any decision should be taken within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 2/4

4. With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
