Respondents PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus for directing the respondents No 1 to 3 to inspect and test the stability of the building constructed by the Tamilnadu Slum Clearance Board at Koodananal Village, Thiukattupalli, Budalur Taluk, Thanjavur District under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) Scheme based on the petitioner's representation dated 07.03.2020 with immediate effect without any delay.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.) The Writ Petition has been instituted with a complaint that the Slum Clearance Board houses have been constructed using sub-standard materials and the structural stability of the buildings itself is questionable. 2/5

2.The learned counsel appearing for the Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board/Trichy Division, submitted that the Executive Engineer, Trichy Division conducted an inspection and issued a stability certificate in respect of the subject buildings. 3.It is needless to state that in the event of any accident or deficiency, the officials, who issued such a certificate, as well as the contractor who used sub-standard materials in the construction of the buildings, must be held personally responsible and accountable for the safety and security of the residents of the Slum Clearance Board buildings. 4.With the above directions, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
