ORDER

The petitioners have come forward with these Writ Petitions to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 09.04.2003 and to sanction the political pension for them by including their name in the list of descendants of King Maruthu Pandiyar Brothers as directed in G.O.Ms.No.1143 dated 19.07.1982 Public (Political A) Department.

2.The case of the petitioner is that on 19.07.1982, the Government of Tamil Nadu through G.O.Ms.No.1143, sanctioned an adhoc political pension of Rs.150/- per mensum to each family of the descendants of Maruthu Pandiar brothers of Sivaganga with effect from the date of issuance of the Government Order. It is also mentioned in the said G.O., that the pension will be paid to the individuals by money order at Government expenses, as the case of the pension to freedom fighters. The petitioner also stated that the name of his brothers viz.,Mr.Mathivanan, Mr.Tamizharasan and Mr.Rajan Sethupathy have been found in the list of descendants https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

in serial No.39, 30 and 31 respectively. The petitioner made representation for sanctioning political pension to the respondents. However, the same have not been considered so far. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court with the present Writ petition to consider the representation of the petitioner. 3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that it would be suffice if the representation of the petitioner is disposed of, by the respondents, on merits and in accordance with law within the time stipulated by this Court. 4.The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would submit that the representation of the petitioner will be considered in accordance with law.

5.In view of the above, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner in this Writ Petition, the petitioner is directed to give fresh representations to the respondents within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On such receipt of the same, the respondents are directed to pass appropriate orders on the representation of the petitioner, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks thereafter. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
