O R D E R

The present Writ Petition has been filed by an Assistant Executive Engineer working in TANGEDCO seeking a Mandamus to reinstate him pursuant to his representation dated 15.03.2024.

2. A perusal of the records indicate that the petitioner was implicated in a criminal case registered by the Vigilance and Anti Corruption Department, Tiruchirappali in Crime No.3 of 2014 under Section (7) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and he was trapped while receiving a sum of Rs,2,000/- from the complainant for arranging permanent disconnection of his service connection.

3. The petitioner herein was placed under suspension on 27.05.2014. So far the suspension order has not been reviewed by the concerned authority. 2/5

4. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents submits that in view of the pendency of the criminal case, the suspension order has not been reviewed.

5. Considering the above said facts, the respondent authorities are directed to review the order of suspension after getting inputs from the Vigilance and Anti Corruption Department and pass orders on merits within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
