Heard the learned Counsel for the petitioner and Mr.M.Lingadurai, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

2.Considering the limited relief that has been sought for by the writ petitioner, with the consent of the learned Counsel on either side, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal. 3.The petitioner has sought for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to consider his representation dated 06.07.2024, for issuance of free house site patta in respect of a property which is under his occupation. It is the specific case of the petitioner that the original assignee's whereabouts are not known hence, there may not be any difficulty for the respondents to cancel the said assignment and issue fresh assignment in favour of the petitioner.

4.Learned Special Government Pleader, on instructions submits that the petitioner's application has been taken up and is being processed and since the assignment has already been made in favour of one person, the same has to be cancelled, before issuing any subsequent assignment in favour of the petitioner. 2/5

5.In view of the above, this Writ Petition is disposed of, directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 06.07.2024 and pass final orders within a period of eight [8] weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
