O R D E R

The prayer sought for in this writ petition is for a writ of mandamus, directing the respondent herein to consider the petitioner's representation dated 30.03.2017 within a time frame fixed by this Court.

2.Heard Mr.R.Vijayakumar, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.M.Murugan, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner was appointed as Steno Typist Grade III on 15.09.2009 and thereafter, by way of transfer, he has been appointed at Revenue Department. However, the respondent has not considered the original seniority of the petitioner from the date of original appointment i.e. on 15.09.2009 for the purpose of seniority and other consequential benefits.

4.The learned counsel would further submit in this regard, the petitioner had given representation to the respondent on 30.03.2017 and a reminder also was given on 05.02.2018. In spite of that, the said request of the petitioner was not considered and no order has so far been passed. Therefore, the petitioner is https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

before this Court.

5.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that if the respondent is directed to consider the said representation of the petitioner on merits and an order to that effect is directed to be passed, within a time frame, the petitioner would be satisfied.

6.I have heard the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent in this regard, who would submit that the petitioner's representation dated 30.03.2017 shall be considered and an order to that effect would be passed, within a time frame, to be fixed by this Court.

7.Considering the limited scope of the prayer in the writ petition, this writ petition is disposed of with the following direction:

"The respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 30.03.2017 on merits and in accordance with law, and pass orders thereon, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order." 8.With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
