PRAYER: Petition filed under Section 482 of Criminal Procedure Code, praying to direct the second respondent to give adequate police protection to the life and limb of the petitioner and his family members, on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 08.07.2020.

O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to direct the second respondent to give police protection to the life and limb of the petitioner and his family members. 2.Heard the learned Counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondent police. 3.Today when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is a tenant under one Gunasekaran. The third and fourth respondents are the wife and son respectively, to the said Gunasekarn. Before lodging the complaint, without any authentication, the third and fourth respondents approached the petitioner made a life threat and also insisted the petitioner to pay the rent for them. Hence, it is necessary to give police protection to the petitioner.

CRL OP(MD)No.7394 2020 respondent police would submit that based on the complaint given by the petitioner dated 12.07.2020, the second respondent police registered a case in Crime No.740 of 2020 for the offence under Sections 147, 448 and 506(i) IPC, in which, the third and fourth respondents are arrayed as A3 and A4.

5.Recording the above said submission made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this Criminal Original Petition is closed. However, the respondent police undertakes that during the enquiry if it is found protection is required, suitable action will be taken.
