: Respondents Prayer: Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for the issue of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent to grant patta to the petitioner's land property, an extent of 4 cents, situated in Survey Number.152/6, Vilangudi, 1st Bit, Madurai North, Madurai District, based on the petitioner's representation, dated 01.08.2015, within a stipulated time that may be fixed by this Court.

O R D E R

The Writ Petition has been filed, praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent to grant patta to the petitioner's property, an extent of 4 cents, situated in Survey Number.152/6, Vilangudi, 1st Bit, Madurai North, Madurai District, based on the petitioner's representation, dated 01.08.2015.

2. The case of the petitioner is that the property, measuring to an extent of 4 cents of land, situated in Survey Number.152/6, Vilangudi 1st Bit, Madurai North, Madurai District, is in possession of the petitioner, since https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

1996 and he was regularly paying the property tax, till date. The petitioner made a representation to the 2nd respondent on 13.12.2012, for issuance of patta, for the said land.

Since the said representation was not considered, the petitioner made an another representation on 01.08.2015, to the respondents, for issuance of patta, through registered post. Since the same has not been considered, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. Heard both sides.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the petitioner is directed to send a fresh representation to the 2nd respondent, along with a copy of this order, within a period of one week, from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and on receipt of the same, the 2nd respondent is directed to consider and pass appropriate orders on the same, on merits and in accordance with law, by affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner as well as the rival patties, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a fresh representation. It is made clear that this Court is not expressing any opinion about the merits of the matter.

5. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
