This Criminal Original petition has been filed to direct the respondents to provide adequate police protection to the petitioners and for their life and limb.

2.The second petitioner is the wife of the first petitioner. Since the petitioners are under threat from the proposed accused persons, the second petitioner made a representation on 05.06.2018 to the respondent police requesting to give adequate police protection for their life and limp. Since no action has been taken on the said representation, the petitioners are before this Court with the aforesaid prayer.

3.The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioners earlier submitted a representation on 24.05.2018 seeking adequate police protection. Hence, sufficient police protection has been given to the petitioners. Subsequently, the first petitioner gave a statement before the respondent police that the second petitioner is on medical leave. Therefore, no protection is required for the said period. Hence, the police protection was cancelled.
