This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to grant Patta in the name of the petitioner, by considering the petitioner's representation, dated 19.06.2020.

The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the District Forest Officer, Tirunelveli, by proceedings in Na.Ka.No.7004/2015/V1, dated 20.10.2015, has made a recommendation to the District Collector, Tirunelveli, for granting Patta in favour of the petitioner and the District Collector has also given no objection certificate to the petitioner. Therefore, the petitioner has given a representation to the respondent on 19.06.2020. But the same is still pending and hence, the petitioner has approached this Court by filing the present writ petition.

The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent would submit that the petitioner has made a representation to the respondent only on 19.06.2020 and immediately, he has approached this Court for disposal of the said representation. In the present COVID-19 Pandemic situation, the authorities take some more time to consider the said representation of the petitioner.
4. On perusal of the records, it is seen that the petitioner has made a representation to the respondent on 19.06.2020 and within four weeks, he has approached this Court seeking the aforesaid prayer. This Court is of the view that the petitioner has approached this Court without waiting for some more time for disposal of the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
said representation. However, taking into consideration of the said representation, without expressing any opinion on merits, this Court directs the respondent/the Revenue Divisional Officer, Tenkasi, Tenkasi District to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 19.06.2020 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, after giving opportunity to all the parties concerned. No costs.
