ORDER

The writ petition has been filed in the nature of Mandamus seeking a direction against the respondent Executive Officer, Selection Grade Town Panchayat, Alangudi, Pudukottai District, to award contract work for collecting rent from daily market at Alangudi, Pudukottai District, for a period from 01.04.2023 to 31.03.2024 as mentioned as Item No.2 in tender cum auction notification issued by the respondents on 01.03.2023. The petitioner had given a representation dated 24.03.2023.

It is seen from the records that on the previous hearing date on 13.04.2023, the learned standing counsel for the respondents had forwarded a cheque for Rs.7,43,750/- dated 11.04.2023 drawn in Canara Bank, Alangudi Branch, bearing No.120955, in favour of the petitioner herein. This was handed over in open Court. The matter had been listed today for the learned counsel for the petitioner to inform whether he had presented the cheque before the bank for payment. The learned counsel seek time. I am not prepared to grant any time. The cheque has been handed over, it has been received and nothing survives for further adjudication.
