ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the first respondent to recognize the petitioner as Indian citizen as per section 4(1) (a) of the Citizenship Act, 1955 based on the petitioner's representation dated 12.11.2023.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has given a representation on 12.11.2023 for recognizing him as Indian citizen as per Section 4(1) (a) of the Citizenship Act, 1955. However, the same is yet to be considered. Hence, the Writ Petition.

3. The learned Deputy Solicitor General of India appearing for the first respondent would submit that the representation submitted by the petitioner will be disposed within the time stipulated by this Court. 2/4

In view of the same, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Court directs the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 12.11.2023 and dispose of the same, on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
