ORDER

This Writ petition has been filed for directing the respondent to disburse the retained tender deposit amount of Rs.1,50,000/- to the petitioner by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 13.08.2015.

2. Mr.N.Shanmugaselvam, learned counsel takes notice for the respondent. By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage.

3. It is averred in the petition that the petitioner is a registered contractor. He participated in the tender conducted in the year 2009 and he was declared as a successful bidder. Subsequently, on 28.02.2014, work order was issued to the petitioner and as a routine practice, the respondent has retained a sum of Rs.1,50,000/- before commencing work. After completion of the work, the petitioner sought for refund of the said amount. But the same was not refunded, and hence, the petitioner has given a representation on 13.08.2015 and the same has also not been considered so far by the respondent and therefore, present Writ petition has been filed.

Without going into the merits of the case or merits of the representation of the petitioner, this Court directs the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 13.08.2015 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No cost.
