ORDER
The Writ Petition has been filed praying for a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to provide political pension to the petitioner by declaring him as descendants of King Maruthu Pandiyar by considering the petitioner's representation, dated 24.12.2014, within a stipulated time.
2. Mr.M.Murugan, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondents.

3. By consent, this Writ Petition itself is taken up final disposal.
4. It is averred in the petition that he is the son of one Karuppayi, who is the third daughter of Muthukaruppan, who is the sixth generation son of the second wife of King Maruthu Pandiyar, who ruled the Sivagangai Mahanam and a freedom fighter. It is further averred in the petition that as per G.O.Ms.No.1143, dated 19.07.1982, the petitioner is entitled to receive political pension. It is further averred in the petition that the petitioner's relatives also filed W.P(MD)Nos.7234 and 7235 of 2009 seeking for a direction to provide political pension. The same was ordered on 17.07.2014. The petitioner has also sent a representation to the first respondent on 24.12.2014. But the same was not considered so far. Hence, the petitioner has come forward with the Writ Petition for the above stated relief.

Considering the submissions made, without considering the merits of the matter, this Court directs the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 24.12.2014, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case and it is for the first respondent to pass orders purely on merits.
With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No Costs.
