ORDER

This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to dispose of the unnumbered appeal filed by the petitioner on 22.01.2021 within a stipulated time.

2. According to the petitioner, the property situated in Pudukkottai District, Alangudi Taluk, Poovarasakudi Revenue Village in S.No.37/12 classified as Natham, S.No.37/10 classified as Natham, S.No.39/1 classified as Punja and S.No.37/14 classified as Natham, are their ancestral properties and are enjoyed by the petitioner and his brothers. While the matter stood thus, the petitioner made a representation before the second respondent on 14.08.2020 requesting to grant joint patta in the name of the petitioner and his brothers. However, it was informed that the petitioner has to approach the first respondent to get joint patta in respect of the above said properties. Therefore, the petitioner filed an appeal before the first respondent on 22.01.2021 requesting to issue joint patta. The said appeal is still pending before the first respondent without numbering the appeal. Hence, this writ petition. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would state that it would be suffice if a direction is given to dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner.

4. The learned standing counsel for the respondents would state that the appeal filed by petitioner is numbered as O.Mu.A4/652/2021 dated 20.04.2021 and the same would be considered within a reasonable time.

5. Considering the submissions of the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the respondents and in the light of the facts and circumstances of the case, without going into the merits of the case projected by the petitioner, the first respondent is directed to dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner in O.Mu.A4/652/2021 dated 20.04.2021 in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No Costs.
