O R D E R

This petition is filed by the petitioner to direct the learned Judicial Magistrate, Aranthangi, Pudukottai to expedite the trial in C.C.No.186 of 2014 within the time frame fixed by this Court.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is the accused in the above case and FIR has been registered in the year 2014 and still the case is pending without completing trial. Therefore, he filed this petition.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) for the respondent would submit that previously, the case was pending before the Judicial Magistrate, Aranthangi, Pudukkottai District in C.C.No.186 of 2024 and thereafter, the same was transferred to the Judicial Magistrate Court, Avudaiyarkovil in C.C.No.222 of 2024. In this case, already nine witnesses were examined out of 10 witnesses and now, the case is posted for examination of Investigating Officer. Therefore, they will co-operate with the speedy disposal.

Though the petitioner has been filed as if the case is pending before the Judicial Magistrate, Aranthangi, however, the case has been now transferred to the Judicial Magistrate, Avudaiyarkovil, this Court is inclined to pass orders, even without amending the prayer considering the long pending of the case.

5. Since the case is pending from the year 2014 and now, the case is posted for examination of Investigating Officer, this Court directs the learned Judicial Magistrate, Avudaiyarkovil to complete the trial and dispose of the same as early as possible, without giving any long adjournments beyond one week.

6. With the above observations and directions, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
