O R D E R

The petitioner has filed this writ petition for issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to de-freeze the bank account of the petitioner lying in Account No. 611605016525 with the second respondent bank forthwith.

2. In view of the consent expressed by the learned counsel for the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

3. The case of the petitioner is that he is a current account holder of the second respondent bank. The grievance of the petitioner is that his account has been freezed based on a notice received from the Police Department of the Punjab Police Commissionerate, Jalandhar Division 1 and the Rajasthan Jaipur City (South), Shipra Path, on the grounds that certain credit transactions were made in the petitioner's account. Left with no other option, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition.

When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that, it would suffice, if this Court issues a direction to the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders, within a time frame that may be stipulated by this court.

Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the petitioner to submit a fresh representation to the second respondent, within a period of two weeks from today and the same shall be considered on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders, within four weeks thereafter, after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner and aggrieved persons, if any.

6. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 25.03.2025 Index : Yes / No 3/5
