ORDER

Seeking to direct the 1st respondent to conduct enquiry and order the 2nd respondent to take immediate and necessary action for the complaint preferred by the petitioner regarding the sand theft in the Nallathangal Dam with the Tipper Lorry possessing registration number TN-48 P-9561 and the JCB possessing registration number TN-30 AN-0207 by considering the petitioner's representation dated 16.02.2026, this writ petition is filed.

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate(Crl.side) submitted that already a proper enquiry was conducted in this regard and it is identified that the person pointed out by the petitioner possess valid chit issued by the Government of Tamil Nadu, Department of Geology and Mining in No.TN06480491. Hence, no action could be initiated as against the said person.

3. Recording the same, this writ petition is disposed of, giving liberty to the petitioner to challenge the said chit, since he claims that chit cannot be issued for removal of sand from a dam. No costs. 18.03.2026 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No gbg 2/4
