An order dated 09.10.2023 rejecting the petitioner's application for patta is challenged herein.
2. The petitioner asserts that he purchased land of an extent of 2400 square feet in Survey No.138/1A, Krishnapuram Village. Palayamkottai Taluk, under sale deed dated 26.07.2007 bearing Document No.2356 of 2007. Upon applying for patta, it is stated that the petitioner was shocked to receive the rejection order.
3. Learned Additional Government Pleader appears on behalf of all the respondents. He submits that the matter may be remanded for reconsideration.

4. On perusal of the impugned order, I find that it is recorded therein that "the application 2023/0105/29/260448 is rejected by Tahsildar on 09.10.2023". No reasons for rejection are discernible from the said order. On account of being completely unreasoned, the order cannot be sustained and is hereby set aside. As a corollary, the matter is remanded for reconsideration by the Tahsildar. After providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner and any other person who would be affected by such order, a speaking order shall be issued within three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. This writ petition is disposed of on these terms. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
