ORDER

Heard Mr.SC.Herold Singh, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.M.Lingadurai, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

2. The petitioner filed this writ petition seeking a direction to the respondents to sanction and disburse two advance increments to the petitioner for possessing M.Tech degree by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 20.02.2023.

3. Mr.SC.Herold Singh, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, submitted that as per the G.O.Ms.No.119 Public Works Department dated 11.07.1971, the petitioner is entitled to two advance increments for higher 2/6

qualification. The petitioner acquired the degree in M.Tech, but his claim for incentive increment for higher qualification has not been considered so far. It appears from the records that the third respondent has sought clarification from the second respondent about the entitlement of the petitioner for having acquired M.Tech degree, but so far no clarification has been given and neither any order has been passed. Since there are Government Orders adversely made in this regard and some of the individuals have also been sanctioned with incentive increment for having acquired higher qualification, the third respondent is directed to pass appropriate orders on the representation of the petitioner within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order in accordance with law and in accordance with the existing Government Orders.
