Respondent PRAYER: Writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to grant lease of fishing rights to the petitioner's Co-operative Society in respect of Periyakulam Taluk, Annavaithan Tank at Avaniyapuram and Thenkal at Tiruparankundram, Madurai in the light of the Government Order in G.O.Ms.No.201 Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries (FS-6) Department dated 19.10.2017 within the time period stipulated by this Court.

The petitioner seeks grant of lease of fishing rights for the petition mentioned tank. During the pendency of the Writ Petition, the respondents rejected the said request.
