Respondents Prayer: Criminal Original petition is filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C, to direct the third respondent to give a police protection for the petitioner, his wife and his daughter life and limb as well as to enter into his house property situated at 4/43, Mathanpattavur, Kattayankadu, Pattukottai, Thanjavur District and to give protection to do agriculture in the above mentioned 5 properties which was allotted to the petitioner's daughter based on the representation dated 24.04.2021 in accordance with law. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for respondents 1 and 2 and the learned counsel appearing for respondents 4 and 5.

2. Considering the nature of relief to be granted, issuance of notice to respondents 4 and 5 is dispensed with. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

3. The fourth respondent is none other than the son of the petitioner. The petitioner alleges that he is being threatened and disturbed by the fourth respondent. It is further stated that the fifth respondent who is an ex-councillor is supporting the fourth respondent.

4. I do not want to enter into the factual controversies. The provisions of Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act contemplate that the local police must act in such a manner so as to give a feeling of safety to the senior citizens. The Government has also framed statutory rules in this regard. The third respondent is directed to dispose of the petitioner's representation on merits and in accordance with law in the light of the statutory scheme as mentioned above.

5. This criminal original petition is disposed of accordingly.
