: Respondent PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to sanction Educational Loan of Rs.5,26,000/-(Rupees Five Lakhs and Twenty Six Thousand Only) to the petitioner's son on the basis of the petitioner's application dated 18.01.2018, within a time frame fixed by this Court.

ORDER
The prayer sought for in this Writ Petition is for a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to sanction Educational Loan of Rs.5,26,000/-(Rupees Five Lakhs and Twenty Six Thousand Only) to the petitioner's son on the basis of his application dated 18.01.2018.
2. Heard Mr.J.Jeyakumaran, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.K.R.Laxman, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent.
3. Today when the matter was called, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the application is not in required format, since the same has to be done through the online "Vidya Lakshmi Portal".

The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent on instructions further submitted that in case, such an application is made through online, the same would be considered favourably for a sum of Rs.4,00,000/-(Rupees Four Lakhs Only) alone as per the banks norms. Such a submission is acceptable to the petitioner also.
5. In the light of the observations made by the respective counsels, the petitioner is granted liberty to make an online application in "Vidya Lakshmi Portal" to the respondent bank for sanction of educational loan to the tune of Rs.4,00,000/-(Rupees https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
Four Lakhs Only) and on receipt of the same, the respondent bank shall consider it favourably within a period of two weeks thereafter.
6. With the above observations, the writ petition is ordered accordingly. No costs.
