Heard Mr.N.Kamesh, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, Mr.J.Ashok, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for R1 and Mr.C.Karthik, learned counsel appearing for R2.
2. The petitioner has filed this petition seeking to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to disburse the medical reimbursement claim amount to her within a stipulated time based on her representation dated 21.3.2023.
3. Mr.N.Kamesh, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that though the District Level Empowering Committee has recommended to sanction the medical reimbursement claim of the petitioner, the same was not accepted by the second respondent and the second respondent has preferred an appeal before the State Level Empowering Committee. It is his submission that the petitioner is a senior citizen and inordinate delay in sanctioning medical reimbursement claim would grossly affect her interest 2/5

In view of the above submissions and considering the fact that the second respondent has preferred an appeal before the State Level Empowering Committee, I feel that it is appropriate to direct the State Level Empowering Committee to dispose of the appeal preferred by the second respondent within a specific time limit.
5. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of and the State Level Empowering Committee is directed to pass appropriate orders on the appeal preferred by the second respondent in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
